Sage Communications Announces New Hires

MCLEAN, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sage Communications has welcomed twelve new full-time staff members in the last six months to support expanding client needs as well as new business. These additions mark the twelfth year of consecutive growth for Sage, the leading independent technology and B2G communication firm in the Greater Washington D.C. area.

Joining Sage’s public relations department, are Senior Account Executives Matt Basil and Andy Fountain. Andy and Matt serve as client strategists and copywriters on a variety of accounts. In 2015 Matt earned a master’s degree in communication from George Mason University, after serving eight years in the U.S. Army. Andy manages strategic communications campaigns for clients in the technology, healthcare, and nonprofit sectors. Previously he worked at a D.C.-area public affairs and communications firm, primarily for large healthcare-focused foundations and national nonprofits.

Ufuoma Otu is an account manager in the public relations division of Sage. After growing up in Nigeria, Ufuoma moved to the United States and graduated from Loyola University of Chicago. She has over 15 years of experience in media relations, communications and project management.

Omnia Elgoodah has been named the digital marketing coordinator for Sage, specializing in email marketing, advertising, and digital analytics. Omnia is currently working on a master's degree at George Washington University.

Tommy Morgan and Jules Mahon joined the team as account coordinators in the PR department after both graduated from Radford University in May. Jules is a former Sage intern who supports clients’ social media needs and provides traditional PR support on tasks such as media outreach. Tommy works mainly with cybersecurity and cloud computing clients, focusing on media relations and communications materials. He will begin an online master’s program through West Virginia University, in the fall.

Marketing Account Coordinator Zach Hilderbrandt is from Rochester, New York, and previously served as an Assistant Advertising Manager at the University of Buffalo’s periodical, The Spectrum. Zach is also a former Sage intern.

Dave Dykes is a PR account coordinator from Asheville, North Carolina who specializes in copywriting and social media. He will begin pursuing a master’s degree at Georgetown University in the fall.

PR Account Coordinator Deesha Adyanthaya comes from a wide-ranging background in public relations, with experience in brand marketing, nonprofit communications, web content management, and social media.

Liam Sullivan joined the team as a PR account coordinator. He previously worked for American University’s WAMU radio, where he served as a marketing and communications assistant, coordinating media for events and internal communications.

Megan Rufty, a PR account coordinator, graduated from University of Maryland with a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism and psychology. Megan manages social media, copywriting, and media relations work for her clients.

Michael Wertheim comes to Sage Communications as an account coordinator from Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in advertising and public relations in 2015.
