Jeffress has joined the firm as a partner. Mr. Jeffress’s practice will focus on defending clients in white-collar cases involving fraud, false statements, bribery, public corruption, and other criminal and civil matters.

Mr. Jeffress has an extensive background in criminal and civil matters. As an Assistant Federal Public Defender for the District of Columbia, Mr. Jeffress represented clients in all phases of federal criminal prosecution, won acquittals in over half a dozen jury trials, and successfully argued numerous appeals. Mr. Jeffress is a frequent lecturer on law enforcement sting operations to Federal Defender Offices and to members of Criminal Justice Act Panels. He serves as a Lead Screening Committee Member on the Clemency Project 2014, reviewing applications for executive clemency in the wake of changes in federal sentencing law. Prior to joining the Federal Public Defender’s office, Mr. Jeffress practiced at Williams & Connolly LLP, where he worked on criminal and civil matters, including the defense of a high-profile accounting fraud prosecution and a grand jury investigation regarding a Presidential pardon.
