Depending on who you believe, the Redskins either have or have not had internal conversations about bringing in free-agent pass rusher Greg Hardy with Junior Galette now out for the season.
On July 26, ESPN's Ed Werder reported such conversations had occurred. Shortly after, The Washington Post's Mike Jones tweeted a source denied the conversations happened. It seems unlikely a reporter as reputable as Werder would make up a story such as this -- although it's possible the truth is somehow lost in the minutiae.
Immediately after Werder's report broke, social media, sports radio and water coolers throughout the DMV were ablaze in furor. (Scott Allen collected much of the response over at the DC Sports Bog.) Reaction was predictable. Merely the notion of a team even having a conversation about a player once convicted of domestic violence (charges which were dropped on appeal when the accuser could not be located) was enough to warrant condemnation from an entire fan base, as well as football fans all over the world.
