The American Council for Technology – Industry Advisory Council (ACT-IAC) announced that Judith Douglas, Client Industry Executive, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, was selected as Vice Chair of the Institute for Innovation Advisory Board. Andrew Robinson, Chair of the Institute for Innovation Advisory Board and COO, Robbins Gioia, commented, "We are approaching the 5-year anniversary of the Institute which coincides with a new Administration in January. The time is right to assure the Institute sustains its role as a strong proponent of government innovation. I can't think of anyone better qualified to lead our strategy than Judy. She is well respected for her extensive leadership experience in ACT-IAC. She even helped conceptualize the Institute when it began in 2012."

ACT-IAC created the Institute for Innovation to provide "an objective, non-partisan forum for strategic thought leadership to advance government missions through the innovative application and management of information technology." The Institute undertakes projects to address game-changing issues with high strategic impact affecting multiple agencies or programs where government and industry collaboration can improve the outcome. The Institute promotes a culture of innovation through its Igniting Innovation awards program, Presidential transition papers, National Innovation Initiative, and projects to help government transform its programs. Recent projects include adopting a citizen-centric, life-event driven approach to delivering government services, establishing a customer experience office, and transforming the way government builds solutions.

Dave McClure, Ph.D., IAC Executive Chair and Chief Strategist, Veris Group, expressed his enthusiasm for Judy's appointment. "Judy is highly regarded by her executive peers in government and industry. She has built an impressive, career of public, non-profit, and private sector experience focused on improving the performance of government, largely through effective leadership and innovative approaches with information technology. She works tirelessly across public and private sector boundaries always in search of the best ideas and creating effective action-oriented partnerships. We are fortunate to have her commitment to the Institute for Innovation at this crucial time."

The Institute for Innovation is funded through contributions from private-sector sponsor companies and not-for-profit organizations who support the Institute as Research Partners.
