Middletown Valley Bank would like to announce James G. Pierne and A. Dennis Remsburg as the new Chairman and Vice Chairman of the board, respectively. Mr. Pierne succeeds James Clapp who has served as a director since January 1992 and Chairman of the Board from 2012 to 2016. Mr. Remsburg succeeds John T. (J.T.) Routzahn,III as Vice Chairman. Routzahn has served as a director of Middletown Valley Bank since January 2002 and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors from 2012 to 2016. Both Clapp and Routzahn will remain active members of the board. “We are incredibly appreciative of Chairman Clapp and Vice Chairman Routzahn’s service and guidance during the transition that Middletown Valley Bank has gone through over the past several years. James G. Pierne has been a director of Middletown Valley Bank since September 2013. Mr. Pierne retired in December 2011 as Executive Vice President of Susquehanna Bancshares, Inc. and President and CEO of Susquehanna Bank headquartered in Lititz, Pennsylvania. Since 2012 he has been an Instructor of Business and Management at Hagerstown Community College. Mr. Pierne is actively involved various community organizations throughout Washington County, serving in numerous leadership roles. His love of the arts and commitment to Washington County has been felt by the entire community.

Dennis Remsburg has served as a director of Middletown Valley Bank since January 1992. Since 2011 he has been the District Manager of Catoctin and Frederick Soil Conservation districts covering Frederick County. Mr. Remsburg has always been involved in agriculture including his time as owner of Remsburg Sales Service. A native of Jefferson, MD, Remsburg is very active in the community. His community focus revolves around Frederick County youth athletics and agriculture services. His background from an early age has been providing countless hours to support the farming community of Frederick County.
