The Washington Redskins open the 2016 season at home against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Washington finished the 2015 season with a 9-7 record, while Pittsburgh is coming off a 10-6 campaign.

Starting Off Strong

Jay Gruden enters his third season as head coach of the Redskins with a 13-19 overall record, and looks to get his first win in the season's opening week.

In 2015, the Redskins opened the season with a 17-10 loss to the Dolphins, after Miami outscored Washington, 10-0, during the fourth quarter. In 2014, the Redskins fell to the Texans, 17-6. The last time the Redskins recorded a win in Week One was 2012, when Washington topped the Saints, 40-32, in New Orleans under then-head coach Mike Shanahan.
