Washington D.C. Area’s Seventh Healthy Way of Life Destination set to open October 2016

As Life Time Athletic Gaithersburg grows closer to its October 20 opening, newly named General Manager Ken Corbett is eager to help individuals and families in the Washington D.C.-Metro Region experience a unique health and wellness experience. To do so, Corbett has assembled a team of nearly 300 highly motivated and exceedingly well-trained health and lifestyle professionals who will deliver an unparalleled experience within the company’s newest sports, professional fitness, family recreation and spa destination, located at 10121 Washington Boulevard in Gaithersburg.

Corbett has been with Life Time for nearly seven years serving as a General Manager, including at Life Time Athletic in Rockville, MD at 1151 Seven Locks Road in Rockville, MD. Prior to Life Time, Corbett was General Manager and Assistant General Manager at The Sports Club LA in Washington, D.C. He attended Georgia State University.

The new, 125,000-square-foot Life Time Athletic Gaithersburg will offer members an unique-to-the-area indoor and outdoor aquatics centers with zero-depth entry and lap pools; five dedicated group exercise, cycle, Pilates and LifePower Yoga studios; 400 pieces of best-in-class cardiovascular and resistance training equipment; and two full-size indoor basketball courts. Life Time will also offer Kids Academy, an innovative program that provides children the opportunity to build a healthy foundation for life including programs such as karate, arts & crafts, dance, Spanish Immersion and more. Life Time’s Kids Academy is for children three months to 11 years.

       In addition, the destination will features LifeSpa, offering full-service hair, nail and skin care services and therapeutic massage as well as LifeCafe serving healthy food and beverages free of trans fats, bleached flours, and artificial flavors, colors, preservatives and sweeteners.

Life Time Athletic Gaithersburg will be the company’s 122nd destination in the United States and Canada, and the first all-in-one sports, professional fitness, family recreation and spa athletic resort in Gaithersburg. Life Time operates six other locations in the Washington metro area including Centreville, Columbia, Fairfax, Loudoun County, Reston and Rockville.
