It'd be easy to look at Central Florida's 0-12 record last year and a 51-14 loss to Michigan Sept. 10 and suspect Maryland will beat UCF in similar fashion to how the Terps beat Florida International. That, though, would be wrong, as UCF poses a challenge for Maryland, particularly on the road.

Scott Frost, UCF's first-year head coach, made waves after the blowout loss in Ann Arbor, Mich., by saying his team "came in here and outhit those guys" and that "there was no doubt who was hitting harder." UCF contained Michigan's ground game, as the Wolverines ran for just 119 yards on 41 carries.

The Terps (2-0) kick off against UCF (1-1) Sept. 17 at 7 p.m. in Orlando, Fla., with the challenge of finding a way to crack UCF's run defense. Maryland's offense is built on getting into favorable second- and third-down situations, which is made easier by how effectively the Terps have run the ball so far with a host of running backs. Maryland ran for 239 yards on 45 carries Sept. 9 at FIU.
