There are typically about 100 players in a Division I college football facility, and while only a percentage play significant roles on game day, all of their lives change from the time they enter the facility as freshmen to the time they're seniors.
For senior wide receiver DeAndre Lane, it was an uphill battle to get to where he is now. Barely playing as a freshman or sophomore, he made three starts at receiver as a junior in 2015. This year, Lane has been a starter since the season began and has caught eight passes for 98 yards thus far.
But something else changed for Lane in the years since he was a freshman. He's a father to Kylie, his 1.5-year-old-old daughter. Though balancing football and family life is difficult -- Kylie lives in Columbia, Md., with Lane's girlfriend, Paige -- Kylie has given Lane a new perspective on life.
