Navy Ready To Defend Commander-In-Chief's Trophy Against Upstart Air Force

The Navy football team travels to Air Force Oct. 1, and the stakes have rarely been higher.

Both teams enter undefeated for the first time in series history, spanning 49 meetings. The winner will be in the driver's seat to win the Commander-in-Chief's Trophy, which Navy has brought home three of the past four years.

"It's the team that can keep their composure and make the least amount of mistakes," Navy head coach Ken Niumatalolo said. "We are both going to play hard. Both teams want it. It has nothing to do with effort; it's the team that executes."

The Midshipmen, who are coming off a bye, had two weeks to prepare for this high-pressure game. But Air Force (3-0) enters with momentum, after beating Utah State, 27-20, Sept. 24.
