
Eric DeVito
Monarch Academy Anne Arundel County—which includes Monarch Academy Merritt Campus, a public charter school in Glen Burnie, and Monarch Global Academy, a public contract school in Laurel—named Eric DeVito chair of the board of directors.
DeVito is a principal with law firm Stone Mattheis Xenopoulos & Brew. He represents the firm’s real estate and industrial clients in contract negotiations, state and federal regulatory proceedings, utility programs, legislative initiatives and transactional issues, particularly in matters related to land use, zoning, electric power supply, natural gas, electric power transmission and site development.
Devito was previously with the firm from 1997 to 2005 and rejoined in 2011 after serving for six years as vice president and general counsel for Ribera Development, a real estate development company in Annapolis.
In addition, DeVito is secretary of the board of the Anne Arundel County Economic Development Corp. Previously, he has been a guest lecturer for the University of Maryland’s Urban Studies and Planning program and was on the board of directors and president of the Home Builders Association of Maryland, Anne Arundel County chapter.
He is a certified public accountant and earned his law degree from the University of Maryland School of Law and his Bachelor of Science in business administration from The Ohio State University.
