WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Cynthia Castillo, president and CEO of CSSI, a leading provider of transportation and mobility solutions to government and commercial clients, was recently elected to serve as Chair-Elect of the Air Traffic Control Association (ATCA).

Castillo’s term begins just after the ATCA Annual Meeting, which takes place in October 2016. Under the ATCA Constitution and Bylaws, she will serve as Chair-Elect for two years, and assume the role of Chairperson for a further two-year term.

“ATCA plays a vital role in our community, and has done so much to further the mission of the air traffic community while making the skies safer,” said Castillo. “I’m honored to serve as Chair-Elect and I look forward to continuing the progress of the current staff and leadership.”

Castillo has been closely involved with ATCA for more than 20 years. She was a member of the ATCA Scholarship Fund Board from 2002 through 2014, and served as its Chairman from 2009 through 2014. She continues her support of the scholarship initiatives today through fundraising efforts and personal contributions. She was on the ATCA Board of Directors for three consecutive terms, from 2004 through 2010, and during her tenure served as secretary and treasurer. She was also a member of the Search Selection Committee for the ATCA President searches in 2003 and 2006.

As ATCA Chair-Elect, Castillo will use her experience as a business owner to promote and grow ATCA and advance its mission by encouraging collaboration and involvement of all stakeholders – including corporations, advocacy groups, educational organizations and individuals. She will work to increase the visibility and relevance of ATCA while further securing its place as the most important organization in the air traffic community.
