Lockdown Job On Steelers Latest In Jimmy Smith's Surge

Make no mistake: the Pittsburgh Steelers' vaunted passing game didn't have all its weapons available against Baltimore.

During the Ravens' 21-14 win Nov. 6, Markus Wheaton was deactivated via injury, Martavis Bryant was serving a year-long suspension and downfield threat Sammie Coates has not been as productive as expected.

Second-year receiver Eli Rogers had been deactivated twice, and Darrius Heyward-Bey (McDonogh, Maryland) caught only five passes through seven games, albeit two of them for scores.

All of that, combined with the suspense surrounding quarterback Ben Roethlisberger's post-knee surgery status, did not portend good things for Pittsburgh's passing offense, even against a struggling Ravens secondary.
