Redskins' Playoff Path Suddenly Improves

The Washington Redskins were supposed to return from their Week Nine bye to face a knockout schedule of playoff contenders. Instead, a murderers' row lineup has turned into chances for weekly wins as the team fights for a postseason berth.

Washington faces Minnesota Nov. 13 at FedEx Field. A few weeks ago, this looked like a sure Redskins loss, but the Vikings (5-3) have suddenly lost three straight games, while offensive coordinator Norv Turner resigned Nov. 2.

Green Bay (4-4) has lost two straight and is nowhere close to the team that knocked Washington out of the playoffs Jan. 10. Then there's Thanksgiving at Dallas (7-1), where anything can happen. An 11-day stretch that appeared sure to virtually end the Redskins' postseason hopes may now permit a return to the race.
