Eric Dreiband, Jones Day
The global law firm Jones Day today announced that Eric Dreiband, a partner in the Washington Office, has been elected a Fellow of The College of Labor and Employment Lawyers. New York Partner Terri Chase was also elected to the College.
Election as a Fellow is the highest recognition by a labor and employment lawyer's colleagues of sustained outstanding performance in the profession, exemplifying integrity, dedication, and excellence. The College is a prestigious national organization whose membership is limited to attorneys who demonstrate the highest professional qualifications and ethical standards based on the College’s principles of civility and professionalism.
"We congratulate Eric on this richly deserved honor," said Michael Gray, co-chair of Jones Day's global Labor & Employment Practice. "His sterling reputation among both clients and peers is indicative of the standards represented and encouraged by the College of Labor and Employment."
"With the addition of Eric, as well as Terri Chase, Jones Day will number 14 active Fellows in the practice group," noted Matthew Lampe, who also co-chairs the Jones Day practice. "We are grateful that the College has chosen to recognize their professionalism and accomplishments."
The College's installation of Fellows was held November 12, 2016, in Chicago, coincident with the American Bar Association's Labor and Employment Law Section's Continuing Legal Education Conference.
Mr. Dreiband represents companies in all aspects of civil rights, employment discrimination, whistleblower, and wage and hour investigations, litigation, and counseling. He previously served as the general counsel of the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and directed the federal government's litigation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and several other federal employment antidiscrimination laws. Mr. Dreiband also issued the Regional Attorneys' Manual, which established the policies of EEOC's litigation program. Prior to his EEOC service, he served as deputy administrator of the U.S. Department of Labor's Wage and Hour Division, directing the federal government's enforcement of the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, and other laws. For his contribution to the DOL's efforts to update its overtime regulations, Mr. Dreiband received the Secretary of Labor's Exceptional Achievement Award. He also received the Secretary of Labor's Compliance Assistance Award for leading the DOL's efforts to increase compliance with the federal child labor laws
