Preston Smith Leads Redskins Youth Movement

Preston Smith knew he couldn't blow it. After the Washington Redskins linebacker tipped Minnesota Vikings quarterback Sam Bradford's pass, the ball was fluttering back to him.

"After I hit it, I was like, 'I can't miss it twice, or everybody is going to be mad at me,'" he said, "but then I pulled it in and tried to get a touchdown."

It was just the first of two big plays -- including a game-ending sack -- by Smith that helped the Redskins preserve their 26-20 victory against the Vikings Nov. 13. On a day when rookie running back Robert Kelley ran for 97 yards, rookie receiver Maurice Harris caught his first three passes and backup offensive tackle Ty Nsekhe made his second career start, Smith led a Redskins youth movement that shined.
