NEA-backed MapR Appoints Jim Kowalski as Chief Revenue Officer

SAN JOSE, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–MapR Technologies, Inc., provider of the industry’s only Converged Data Platform, named Jim Kowalski to lead its worldwide sales organization. As the Chief Revenue Officer, Jim is responsible for the global MapR go-to-market team, including sales and sales engineering.

Jim joins MapR most recently from Marketo where he led their enterprise organization to significant growth. Prior to that, Jim held a number of senior sales leadership positions with Oracle in both the technology and applications divisions that included their big data and analytics teams. Before Oracle, Jim was Chief Marketing Officer of SmartSignal, an early pioneer in the Internet of Things (IoT), now owned by GE.
