Gov. McAuliffe, Mayor Bowser, Janet Napolitano, Ed Rendell to Join The Atlantic's Infrastructure Summit - Dec. 8 in DC

The incoming Trump administration has identified a national infrastructure overhaul as a major policy priority for its first 100 days. While some Democrats in Congress see this as a potential opening to move a major bipartisan piece of legislation, many challenges and questions surround the enormous task at hand. On Thursday, December 8, The Atlantic’s “Summit on Infrastructure and Transportation” will explore what’s at stake when it comes to improving American infrastructure after years of neglect, and what is needed—from policy and funding to logistics and labor—to bring the country’s most critical arteries into the 21st century.

Speakers joining the program for wide-ranging conversations include Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe; Washington, D.C. mayor Muriel Bowser; former Pennsylvania governor and co-chair of Building America’s Future Ed Rendell; former Homeland Security Secretary and University of California president Janet Napolitano; Norfolk chief resilience officer Christine Morris; Niki Christoff, head of federal affairs at Uber; and former Chicago and D.C. transportation commissioner Gabe Klein.

Moderating conversations across the morning are The Atlantic’s Steve Clemons, Washington editor at large, Sommer Mathis, editor of CityLab.com, and contributor Joie Chen.
