DLA Piper is pleased to announce it has appointed Michael (“Mick”) Helmicki to lead client development efforts in the mid-atlantic region. He will be based in the firm’s Reston, Virginia office.

Helmicki joined from Briley Group, where he was responsible for managing a global portfolio of private companies.  Earlier, he served as a General Partner with Corstone Capital and was a founder and the chief representative for Seoul-based Corstone Asia, which grew from concept to a portfolio of companies generating over $600 million in revenue.  Prior to joining Corstone Capital, Helmicki was a Partner with Edison Ventures and focused on growth equity investments in technology and technology enabled businesses in the mid-Atlantic.  He has served on the boards of 17 private companies and has sourced and executed over $250 million in direct investments.
