NextLOGiK Wins 2017 Gold AVA Digital Award for Howard County Arts Council’s New Website

1/18/17

NextLOGiK, a full-service information technology and development company, received a Gold AVA Digital Award in the nonprofit website category for developing the Howard County Arts Council’s new website. AVA Digital Awards is an international competition that recognizes outstanding work by creative professionals and is judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals.

NextLOGiK also received an honorable mention in the overall website category. During development, the team worked closely with the Howard County Arts Council to update the organization’s web presence and highlight opportunities for community members to participate in the arts as well as showcase local artists in an array of mediums.

“The website is an amazing, powerful tool for us to promote the arts and keep audiences up-to-date and informed,” said Coleen West, Howard County Arts Council executive director. “As the lead advocate for the arts in the county, the site is essential to our work. Its modern look and dynamic user-friendly design is the perfect way to increase our exposure and serve our community. In addition, it is a comprehensive resource and free service for artists and audiences, highlighting opportunities for artists and keeping audiences in-the-know about arts events at venues county-wide. The interactive, searchable events calendar promotes all things art in our county, allowing event-goers to find what they are looking for and helping them discover new activities to explore.

“Likewise, it helps artists and arts groups build awareness and audiences for their events. Kudos to the creative team at NextLOGiK for winning this very prestigious award! Not only did they develop a beautiful, artistic site, the entire NextLOGiK team was responsive to our needs and a delight to work with. We are thrilled with our new website—what a great way to tell our story and celebrate 35 years of fostering the arts!”

A large portion of the project was the interactive arts calendar. Along with events sponsored by the Howard County Arts Council, artists can submit their own events and further promote their work within the county. The newly designed website, accessible at www.hocoarts.org, now allows artists and community members alike to get involved and celebrate the arts.

“The Arts Council does so much to develop and enrich the arts in our community,” said Kirk Couser, CEO of NextLOGiK. “We are proud to be part of delivering a digital resource to expand their reach and further promote these activities here in Howard County.”
