BDO USA, LLP, one of the nation’s leading accounting and consulting organizations, today announced that Tim Helm has joined as a Director in the greater Washington D.C. office.

Prior to joining BDO, Mr. Helm began his career with the Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division (WHD) as an investigator in the Philadelphia district office. From there, he was transferred to WHD’s national office where he served as the Director of Government Contracts Enforcement. He was the recipient of the Department of Labor’s Distinguished Career Service Award and retired from the Department of Labor in February 2015 after more than 33 years of government service.

In his new role in BDO’s Government Contracts and Grants Advisory Services team, Tim will be supporting the government contractor labor law compliance practice. He will focus on helping contractors navigate the complexities of various labor laws including the Service Contract Act (SCA), Davis-Bacon Act, new interim sick leave rule, federal minimum wage requirements and more. Mr. Helm is recognized as an industry leader in all matters pertaining to the SCA, the Davis-Bacon Act (DBA) and other prevailing wage laws.
