Redskins' Top Three Needs For 2017 NFL Draft

The 2017 NFL Scouting Combine begins Feb. 28 and free agency starts March 9, which means the NFL Draft is right around the corner (well, about two months away). We are into the home stretch, as draft boards get made and evaluations get finalized.

Here's a look at the Washington Redskins' top needs, and three players the team could target at those positions with the No. 17 pick.

On the surface, the Redskins have to be thinking defense, right? Washington's safeties are aging, outside of Su'a Cravens, so getting younger and finding someone to grow with Cravens could be a priority. Also, depending on what the team does at wide receiver, the Redskins could consider getting another playmaker. Wideouts DeSean Jackson and Pierre Garcon are free agents, and Josh Doctson is coming off a season in which he barely saw the field due to injuries. For the Redskins, slot receiver Jamison Crowder is the only sure thing at receiver going into the draft and free agency. Inside linebacker could be improved, and it could also be beneficial to upgrade along the defensive line.
