William (Bill) L. Walsh, Jr

Hirschler Fleischer is pleased to announce the addition of William (Bill) L. Walsh, Jr., as counsel in the firm’s Tysons office. Walsh’s arrival supports the firm’s strategic vision to expand its footprint in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area to better serve a sophisticated client base throughout the Mid-Atlantic. A partner with Venable for more than 30 years, Walsh spent much of his career representing federal and state sector companies that contract with the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) and civilian agencies.

“Strategic growth in the Washington Metropolitan area has been a goal for Hirschler Fleischer since our combination with Tysons-based Leach Travell in 2016,” said James L. Weinberg, president of Hirschler Fleischer. “An experienced attorney and trusted advisor to many, Bill has an extensive professional network that will strengthen our geographic reach and allow us to better serve our growing client base. We are honored to welcome him to the firm.”

“We are pleased to add Bill to our lineup,” said Tysons Managing Partner Wayne Travell. “We are confident that Bill’s stellar reputation and established business development skills will enhance the prestige of Hirschler Fleischer’s Northern Virginia operations.”

Walsh has represented clients locally, nationally and internationally in issues including dispute resolution, bid protests, contract administration matters, contract claims, contract terminations, teaming agreements, organizational conflict of interest concerns and small business matters. He has served as an attorney with the DOD on government contract and legislative issues and was formerly Chief Counsel for NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Arlington County Bar Association, the Fairfax County Bar Association and the Virginia State Bar.

“Inspired by this strategic development role at Hirschler Fleischer, I decided to put my retirement on hold,” said Walsh. “Throughout my career, I have enjoyed connecting people to create opportunity, and I look forward to doing so as a representative of Hirschler Fleischer.”

Walsh received his undergraduate degree from Boston College and his law degree from the Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law.
