Michael B. Mendelsohn, CPA, MAcc, has joined PBMares’ Newport News office as a partner in the area of taxation.

“We are excited to have Mike join our firm,” said Alan Witt, CPA, CEO of PBMares, LLP. “Our clients will benefit from the extensive tax-related knowledge and experience he brings with him.”

Mendelsohn has more than 13 years of public accounting experience and three years of corporate tax experience. He specializes in tax planning and compliance for closely held companies and works closely with high net worth individuals who hold complex or alternative investment portfolios.

Prior to joining PBMares, he was a partner at a local CPA firm and previously a senior manager at a top 20 firm. He also served as a senior tax manager at the nation’s largest wholesale distributor of plumbing and HVAC products.

He is an active member and previous treasurer of the Rotary Club of Oyster Point and has served on the Hampton Roads Academy Alumni Council. He is a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants and is a licensed CPA in Virginia.

Mendelsohn graduated magna cum laude from The College of William and Mary with a Bachelor of Business Administration and Master of Accounting (MAcc).
