Roanoke-based accounting firm Brown, Edwards & Company, L.L.P. is merging with West Virginia firm Gibbons & Kawash, A.C., effective Jan. 1.
The merger will create one of the largest certified public accounting offices in West Virginia, according to a news release from Brown Edwards, which runs nine offices across Virginia, West Virginia and Tennessee.
Gibbons & Kawash has been in Charleston, West Virginia, for 25 years and has about 37 employees, a Brown Edwards spokeswoman said.
“We have known the professionals of Gibbons & Kawash for a very long time,” Jason Hartman, managing partner of Brown Edwards, said in the release.
