Aging software is the bane of modern business. Companies know they could work smarter, but dread the headaches associated with replacing entrenched systems. Many bandage their existing applications and soldier on.

One IT consulting firm believes software makeovers shouldn’t be painful. The delivery process itself just requires the same care and attention that’s given to perfecting the underlying technical solution.

For 30 years, Mind Over Machines has worked to enrich business and the world through smarter software. The company regularly receives accolades for delivering strong technical solutions, but is equally committed to the part of the job the industry often neglects: client experience.

“Client experience is like company culture,” asserts Mind Over Machines Founder and CEO Tom Lovel and. “It exists whether you’re intentional about it or not. But if you’re not intentional, you probably won’t like what you end up with.”

“Too many in our industry focus too much on technology alone,” continues Lovel and. “Mind Over Machines cares more about meaningful outcomes and a positive client experience. So we’ve restructured our leadership team to match our beliefs and double down on smooth delivery alongside technical excellence.”

Dmitry Cherches, former Chief Technology Officer and 18-year veteran of Mind Over Machines, has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer. Cherches will drive client ROI and organizational excellence through his technical, financial and leadership acumen.

Carrie Schuckle, with 11 years at Mind Over Machines, has been promoted to the newly created role of Chief Delivery Officer. Schuckle will oversee project delivery, collaborating with the firm’s project managers to ensure smooth delivery of company solutions for maximum client benefit.

Dustin Sitton, with 13 years at Mind Over Machines, has been promoted to Chief Technology Officer. Sitton will oversee solution selection and architecture, collaborating with the firm’s senior architects to provide clients with strategic technology guidance and effective, extensible systems.

“Dmitry, Carrie and Dustin are terrific leaders individually. Together, they make a powerful team, holding each other’st alents in high regard,” says Lovel and. “They embody MOM’s culture and are committed to quality delivery.”

“For us, success entails solid strategy, human-centered design, and smooth execution, leading to empowered users and meaningful client impact,” explains newly promoted COO Cherches. “It’s what our new organizational structure is designed to enable. Smart use of technology, and smart delivery of that technology, makes business and the world better and richer.”

Dmitry Cherches will now serve as Chief Operating Officer. He will continue to champion client ROI while attracting and nurturing top talent to position Mind Over Machines as the leader in headache-free delivery of innovative software solutions.

Previously, as Chief Technology Officer, Cherches was responsible for setting the company’s technology vision. He played key strategic and technical roles on numerous projects, including the commercial release of Corporate eFile, the first online service to enable major corporations like Coca-Cola and eBay to file and pay their corporate tax online in all states in which they operate.

Cherches is a 1998 graduate of The University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), where he earned both a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics.

He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Jewish Community Center (JCC) of Greater Baltimore, a member of the Baltimore Industry Round table of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, and serves on board committees for Loyola University of Maryland and the Maryland/Israel Development Center.

Cherches lives in Owings Mills with his wife,Olga, and their three sons, Alan, Mark and Ryan.

Carrie Schuckle has been named Chief Delivery Officer at Mind Over Machines. She brings over 15 years’ experience in project management, relationship management, senior level technology consulting for national organizations, and director-level experience overseeing operations for an association management software company.

Grounded as a software developer and business analyst, she served as principal project manager and development team lead on a multi-year redesign and re engineering of the key client-facing system for an international fleet management company.

As Chief Delivery Officer of Mind Over Machines, Schuckle will lead the teams responsible for solution delivery and drive the practices that ensure clients a positive engagement experience.

“Carrie brings a deep understanding of both technology and organizational management, and the people skills needed to help clients turn both into a win,” says Lovel and. “Her cheerful demeanor, technical proficiency, commitment to excellence, and passion for team development, make her an asset to our clients and the perfect fit for this new role.”

Schuckle holds a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems from Salisbury State University and an MBA in Information Systems from Loyola University. She resides in Forest Hill with her husband, Ken, and their three children, Cameron, Kenny and Cora.

Dustin Sitton has been promoted to Chief Technology Officer. He brings 20 years of successful technology consulting experience, graduating from developer to senior architect to Director of Consulting Services. Now Sitton will be responsible for leading the company’s technical direction and ensuring client needs are met with the most appropriate software and data solutions.

“There are so many technical people out there who feel the need to bury the client in industry jargon to prove their expertise,” says Cherches. “Dustin has a special ability to listen effectively, connect with clients, and suss out the crux of a given challenge. He understands client needs, enabling him to present the best solution to meet those needs.”

Sitton’s previous accomplishments include development of a line-of-business application that supplies real-time market data and research to fund managers at a global investment firm; in-depth analysis of mission-critical systems for a national medical monitoring provider; and several cutting-edge applications in cloud computing environments.

Sitton graduated from American University with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems. He lives in Lutherville with his wife,Nancy, and their two children, Margot and Dashel.
