SECU Introduces New Online And Mobile Banking Experience

2/14/18

SECU – Maryland’s largest credit union – is launching a new online banking platform and mobile app for its members, based on their feedback.

“SECU members told us that they wanted to have greater control of their finances at their convenience and on their schedule,” explains Kevin Stehl, SECU’s Vice President of Marketing, Product, and Digital. “They asked for greater convenience, faster service, enhanced security, and the financial tools that enable them to set budgets, manage expenses, and meet their savings goals. We included all of those elements when designing the new experience to ensure we gave our members something that was really useful to them.”

SECU partnered with Dallas-based Alkami Technology to build the new platform. Alkami works with financial institutions across the country to design, build, and implement digital banking solutions. The project, which took many months to complete, offers SECU members a more robust online and mobile banking experience, and allows them to bank on their time.

New features include person-to-person transfers, budgeting tools, and finger-tip or pin log-in. SECU has also enhanced traditional features including Bill Pay, account transfers, mobile check deposits, and account information display screens for easier navigation.

“In today’s world, people need the convenience provided by technology that never closes,” says Stehl. “Offering our members the ability to handle most of their banking needs online or from mobile devices that they always carry with them is crucial for SECU to continuously improve member satisfaction and meet their everyday banking needs.”

The new platform will be introduced to members over the course of February and March, with all members being converted by the end of the first quarter of 2018.
