Mosquito Squad, the Henrico County-based mosquito and tick control franchise company, is expanding internationally for the first time.
The company, a subsidiary of Outdoor Living Brands, announced Tuesday that it is starting its first operation in East Africa through an agreement that covers Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. The franchisee there will be owned and operated by Fred Rariewa, the founder of Pulse Experiential Group, an East Africa-based marketing agency that specializes in health education.
Mosquito Squad, founded in 2005, covers 240 operating territories in the United States and Puerto Rico through franchises.
The company is a supporter of Malaria No More, a nonprofit that works to prevent the mosquito-borne illness.
