Keith Euker was just a few weeks into his new job as the McDaniel College head men's lacrosse coach when the phone rang. It was a call that coaches dread: a man wanting Euker to recruit his grandson.
Whatever the reason -- maybe because he was new, literally didn't know anyone on campus and hadn't even begun recruiting yet -- Euker took the call. And he listened.
It paid off.
"Maybe it was fate," the third-year coach said. "But I'm certainly glad that his grandfather reached out."
