Several Local Women's Lacrosse Teams Bound For Postseason Play

What has already been a spectacular season for local NCAA Division I women's lacrosse heats up with conference tournament play on the horizon. Six of seven Baltimore-area programs have an opportunity to advance to the NCAA Tournament.

Four of those six teams -- No. 2 Maryland, No. 8 Towson, No. 9 Loyola and No. 10 Navy -- are locks for postseason bids, while No. 23 Johns Hopkins and Mount St. Mary's are still in the hunt.

Both the Blue Jays and Mountaineers can earn automatic bids to the NCAA Tournament by winning their respective conference tournaments. For Mount St. Mary's, a Northeast Conference title is its only hope, but for Hopkins, a win against Maryland in the Big Ten semifinals May 4 would likely seal the deal.
