Towson Softball Completes Record-Breaking Season

Even though the Towson University softball season concluded May 19 at the National Invitational Softball Championship, the Tigers continue to reap the fruits of their record-breaking season.

Senior outfielder Kendyl Scott and senior infielder Brook Miko received NCAA Division I All-America honors from Fastpitch News June 19, with Scott being named to the second team and Miko earning honorable mention. Both players previously had been named All-Colonial Athletic Association, National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Mid-Atlantic Region and first-team All-Eastern College Athletic Conference.

"We play in one of the toughest non-Power Five conferences in the country," Towson head coach Lisa Costello said. "Two of the teams ended up top 20 in the nation in RPI, so they are facing legit pitching in conference play. It was nice to see them get the recognition, but they'd be the first to tell you that a lot of what they do depends on the team you have around you."
