Baker Tilly partner recognized for advocacy and volunteerism

The National Kidney Foundation (NKF) recently presented its All-Star Award to Monica Modi Dalwadi, a partner at Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, LLP (Baker Tilly) in recognition of her work for the organization.

Dalwadi, who serves as treasurer and a board member for the organization, received the award at the National Kidney Foundation Kidney Kudos & Brews Reception on June 28. The award recognizes “an outstanding volunteer who has greatly contributed to the success of the NKF over the past year,” according to the organization. Dalwadi was lauded “as a truly exceptional member of our Board of Advisors who has been a tremendous advocate in the community helping to raise awareness and funds to support our mission.”

“Monica actively serves our community through her work at NKF and many other organizations,” Todd Stokes, managing partner - D.C. Metro Area, said. “She serves on our firm’s national diversity and inclusion steering committee and encourages students who want to enter our profession. Monica brings the same high level of passion and commitment to the community as she does to our firm.”

National Kidney Foundation Executive Director Michele Anthony echoed those thoughts. “We are thrilled to be presenting the 2018 All-Star Award to Monica Dalwadi. For the past four years, Monica has been an influential board member, taking on leadership roles enthusiastically,” she said. “As treasurer she encouraged more active support and engagement, and as nominating chair she helped engage new volunteers to ensure the future success of the board of advisors.”

Noting that Dalwadi will be stepping down from the board, Anthony added, “She will be sorely missed.”

The 2018 Kidney Kudos & Brews Reception marks the 55th annual event where NKF distributes these awards, previously known as Volunteer Service Awards, to honor the men and women who actively support its mission of advancing the awareness, prevention and treatment of kidney disease.
