Backed By Growing Fan Base, UMBC Men's Soccer Ready For 2018 Season

The efforts made by UMBC men's soccer coach Pete Caringi throughout the past 28 years to turn his program into a national contender are well documented, as is his team's success. That success has also helped turn the Retrievers' home field into one of the nation's top college soccer venues.

Retriever Soccer Park was recently voted one of the nine best places to watch college soccer in the country as part of an NCAA-sponsored poll in which fans nominated venues from around the nation. RSP cracked the list along with the home fields of soccer powers Creighton, Penn State, Wake Forest, Akron, South Carolina, Kentucky, Texas A&M and Utah.

"To see our program recognized for having one of the top venues for watching college soccer in the nation says a lot about the people here," Caringi said. "UMBC has supported us for a long time in improving the field, and we really work as a unit along with the marketing staff to get people to come out and make every game seem like a big event. For those efforts to get recognized shows that it's become a great place for people to come and really enjoy college soccer."
