FINCA International, a pioneer in market-based solutions to poverty through microfinance and social enterprise, is pleased to announce that Judith Reyes has joined the organization as General Counsel. As the senior legal officer for FINCA International, Judith will be responsible for managing legal risk and compliance and providing comprehensive legal advice.
Judith is a seasoned attorney with progressive legal experience in tax-exempt charitable organizations and corporate firms. In her immediate prior role, Judith served as the Associate General Counsel for The Rockefeller Foundation, a private foundation that promotes the well-being of humanity throughout the world. As Associate General Counsel, Judith oversaw corporate legal and compliance matters as well as grant management and program-focused legal work. She is adept at overseeing policy, governance and ethics for not-for-profit corporations, with expertise in legal matters concerning intellectual property and external communications. Before The Rockefeller Foundation, Judith worked as a Legal Advisor for Conservation International, providing legal support for grants of endowment capital, overseeing loan transactions, conducting due-diligence on external partners, and managing risk. Judith began her career in law as a Corporate Associate at two firms—Andrews Kurth LLP and Bracewell & Giuliani, LLP—working in the areas of finance, mergers and acquisitions, securities and corporate law.
