Tampa Bay Rays infield/outfield prospect Brandon Lowe made his major league debut Aug. 5, and it was exactly what the University of Maryland product envisioned.
"You're playing against guys that you've played with in video games," Lowe said. "It's a pretty cool experience. It's everything you really think of."
Lowe, 24, was drafted by the Rays in the third round of the 2015 MLB Draft. Lowe -- the Rays' No. 9 prospect, according to MLB Pipeline -- is a career .281/.374/.465 hitter during three minor league seasons.
Lowe spent time with Double-A Montgomery and Triple-A Durham this season, excelling at both levels. He said he was on the road with Durham when he was promoted.
