We're reaching the point in the season where we're targeting players on the waiver wire who will help us in a specific category to potentially make an impact on the standings. This isn't a huge difference than what we do throughout the season, but I've always stressed targeting players who will help in multiple categories and not just one. However, we're getting closer to taking on that risk if it means jumping in the standings.

Tampa Bay Rays Infielder Willy Adames - When a player is hitting nearly .400 during a month, it's time to take notice. The 22-year-old is batting .386/.451/.659 in August and has chipped in with three home runs and four stolen bases. The infielder is eligible at second base and shortstop and is only 33 percent owned in Yahoo! Sports leagues.
