It's amazing how a change of scenery can turn a player's season around. We've witnessed two examples in August that could be pay huge dividends for fantasy owners during the final few weeks of the fantasy baseball season.

Veteran left-hander Cole Hamels was traded by the Texas Rangers to the Chicago Cubs July 27. Hamels hasn't allowed more than one earned run during any of his five starts with the Cubs. To put that in perspective, Hamels allowed seven earned runs twice during his final four starts with the Rangers.

Right-hander Kevin Gausman also switched leagues, as he was traded by the Baltimore Orioles to the Atlanta Braves July 31. He hasn't allowed more than three earned runs during any of his first four starts. It's hard to figure out why he's had so much success -- other than perhaps switching leagues and being thrust into a playoff race -- but it's great news for fantasy owners regardless.
