After an upset victory against then-No. 23 Texas, the Maryland football team is shifting its focus to Bowling Green and hoping to avoid a letdown, as the Terps now stand as strong favorites against the home team.
"To go play them on the road will be a tremendous challenge for us and that's what we're focused on right now," interim head coach Matt Canada said. "They're a great program."
The Terps began their week of preparation Sept. 3, and the Falcons' offense jumped off the tape immediately. With talented sophomore quarterback Jarret Doege operating the offense, Bowling Green went up 10-0 against Oregon quickly during its opening game. Bowling Green ran 89 offensive plays against Oregon Sept. 1. Maryland's offense must do a good job not only scoring but possessing the ball to keep the opposition off the field, Canada said.
