The Baltimore Orioles have long been eliminated from the 2018 playoffs, but they're in good position to land the coveted No. 1 overall pick in the 2019 MLB Draft.
Colleyville Heritage (Tex.) High School shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. -- son of 16-year MLB pitcher Bobby Witt -- is projected by MLB.com to be taken with the first pick next June.
While he's still months away from his final high school season from even starting, the 18-year-old shortstop has started hearing the rumblings from the Baltimore fan base, which is embracing the thought of the Orioles selecting him with the No. 1 pick.
"Just a little bit I've heard," Witt said on Glenn Clark Radio Sept. 11. "I think I've been tagged in a couple of tweets or something, but I haven't really looked into it."
