The Maryland football team bounced back from last week’s loss in exciting fashion with a 42-14 victory against previously undefeated Minnesota Golden Gophers. The Terps’ offense returned to life posting 432 yards after totaling just 195 yards last week and failing to score an offensive touchdown.
It’s the team’s third win of the season and first at home in College Park.
“We had a tough one last week and didn’t play as well as we wanted to play, and we came back today and played very, very hard,” Maryland interim head coach Matt Canada said. “Our players came back with great passion and they came out of the tunnel with passion. I thought they came out of halftime with great energy.”
The Terps took a 14-0 lead early in the first quarter and added touchdowns to that total in each of the remaining quarters. By the end of the first quarter, the team had already surpassed its totals in sacks, touchdowns and rushing yards against Temple Sept. 15.
