Bruce Arians: Ravens WR John Brown Was 'Superstar Waiting To Happen'

Expected to be the deep threat the Baltimore Ravens' offense has not had since wide receiver Torrey Smith left the team in 2014, receiver John Brown has proven he can make plays anywhere on the field.

The 5-foot-11, 178-pound Brown, nicknamed "Smokey," leads the Ravens in receiving yards (222), yards per reception (18.5) and touchdown catches (two) three weeks into the season. Bruce Arians, who coached Brown with the Arizona Cardinals from 2014-2017, discussed Brown on Glenn Clark Radio Sept. 26.

"He can do it all. He might be small in stature, but he's strong, he's physical, he can make every catch," said Arians, now an analyst for CBS. "That's the one thing about Smokey, he's one heck of a competitor."
