Five Takeaways From The Terps' Win Against Rutgers

Every time Rutgers quarterback Artur Sitkowski dropped back to pass, the Maryland defense was prepared to pounce. Sitkowski, and later Giovanni Rescigno, were hounded by the Terps’ defense and combined for one of the worst quarterback performances in recent college football history.

Sitkowski’s final passer rating of -33.3 was the third-worst passer rating by a quarterback who’s thrown at least 10 passes since 2000, according to Sports Reference. He finished with two completions for eight yards and four interceptions.

The Scarlet Knights’ quarterbacks threw for more interceptions (five) than completions (two). Terps safety Darnell Savage Jr. became the first Maryland player with two interceptions since Sean Davis did so Sept. 19, 2015 against the University of South Florida.
