Jessica Kuhn, David Schriver and Mike Strauss to Discuss Not-for-Profit’s Revenue Recognition and Financial Statement Reporting in Ellin & Tucker Two-Part Webinar Series
Ellin & Tucker, the mid-Atlantic’s leading public accounting and business consulting firm, announced that Jessica Kuhn, David Schriver and Michael Strauss have been selected to co-present in the firm’s first not-for-profit two-part webinar series. Jessica Kuhn, manager, and David Schriver and Michael Strauss, directors, in the firm’s audit, accounting and consulting department and members of the firm’s not-for-profit services group, will lead the free webinar series titled “Not-for-Profit Reporting Changes: What You Need to Know”. The first session will be held on November 1, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. and the second session will be held on November 8, 2018 also at 1:00 p.m.
In this webinar series, Kuhn, Schriver and Strauss will discuss what not-for-profit organizations need to know and how they can prepare for the changes coming to both revenue recognition standards and financial statement presentations. The sessions are “Part ONE: Revenue Recognition for Not-for-Profit Organizations”, which will break down the revenue recognition standards and how they will affect not-for-profit organizations and “Part TWO: Not-for-Profit Financial Reporting Changes”, which will discuss financial statement presentation, the key changes and what not-for-profit organizations can do to prepare. In addition, both presentations will end with a question and answer segment.
Over the course of her 10-year career at Ellin & Tucker, Jessica Kuhn has provided high-quality audit, financial reporting and advisory services to several not-for-profit organizations. Her knowledge of not-for-profit audit and accounting standards, including Federal OMB Uniform Grant Guidance audits, has helped grow the firm’s not-for-profit services group practice. Kuhn has been tapped to share her not-for-profit industry expertise with local publications such as The Baltimore Business Journal.
David Schriver is chair of the firm’s education services group, a subset of the not-for-profit services group. With more than two decades of audit, accounting and consulting experience, Schriver’s industry expertise includes budgeting and forecasting, cash flow analysis, strategic planning, risk management and human resource functions. He is a seasoned public speaker and author having shared his insights on building an effective not-for-profit boardwith various national and regional associations and publications.
Michael Strauss has more than two decades of experience providing audit and accounting, tax, consulting and management advisory services to private and public charitable organizations and foundations, schools and organizations receiving federal and state funding. He is also chair of the firm’s government contractor services group and immediate past chair of the firm’s audit and accounting technical standards committee, which works to ensure that the firm’s professional staff has a thorough understanding of current accounting and financial reporting standards. Strauss has written for not-for-profit publications, such as Philanthropy Journal, on not-for-profit ownership transitions.
