On Oct. 18, Terps got a verbal commitment from consensus four-star guard Marcus Dockery as the first member of the 2020 class before three-star forward Donta Scott became the third member of the program's 2019 class just six days later.

Scott had offers from the likes of Temple, Penn State and Seton Hall in addition to Maryland, per 247Sports. The Philadelphia native competed for the Under Armour-sponsored Philly Pride AAU program and plays high school ball at Imhotep Institute Charter School, the same school former Terps wide receiver DJ Moore attended.

Scott posted 12.7 points and 4.7 rebounds per game during three games in the 17-and-under UAA finals this summer, according to the UAA website. The 6-foot-6 Scott proved to make a difference in the paint with two blocks and six steals to go along with his rebounding impact.
