Of the local Division I men's college soccer programs, only Loyola will be hosting conference tournament games this year. And if things go as scripted for the Greyhounds, it's possible they could host more than just the Patriot League Tournament.
Loyola, which has locked up the top seed and home-field advantage for the Patriot League semifinals and finals, will rest some key players during its Nov. 3 regular-season finale at Lafayette, mainly to ensure those players avoid picking up their fifth yellow cards and a subsequent suspension for the team's first tournament game.
Still, the Greyhounds are playing for keeps. They hope to be considered for a home NCAA Tournament game if they can pull off victories in their next three contests.
