Though what's shaping up to be another mediocre season for the Baltimore Ravens may force wholesale changes, CBS Sports NFL insider Jason La Canfora believes quarterback Lamar Jackson may give the Ravens a chance at a popular head coaching candidate next season.
Since winning Super Bowl XLVII in January 2013, the Ravens have gone 44-45 and made the playoffs just once, eventually losing to the New England Patriots in the Divisional Round in January 2015. If the Ravens fail to make the playoffs this year, it will be the longest playoff drought for the franchise since its first four years in Baltimore from 1996-1999.
In light of these struggles, La Canfora reported Nov. 11 that head coach John Harbaugh and the organization may mutually part ways at the end of the season, which would coincide with the departure of longtime general manager Ozzie Newsome. Assistant GM Eric DeCosta will take over for Newsome after the season.
