Maryland Basketball Drops In AP Top 25, USA Today Coaches Poll

After a 1-1 week, the University of Maryland men's basketball team dropped out of the AP poll, but held steady at No. 23 in the USA Today Coaches Poll, released Dec. 10.

Kansas (8-0) takes over the top spot in both polls, followed by Duke (9-1). Tennessee (7-1) comes in at No. 3 in the AP Top 25, while the third spot in the USA Today Coaches Poll belongs to Virginia (9-0).

Maryland is now 8-2 on the season, with a 1-1 record in Big Ten play. During the past week, the Terps lost to Purdue, 62-60, on the road Dec. 6 and defeated Loyola-Chicago, 55-31, at Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore Dec. 8. .
