Goulston & Storrs Adds New Freshman Class of Associates

Goulston & Storrs is pleased to announce it has hired five first-year associates in its Boston office to support the service needs of its continuously growing client base.

Vaishali Goyal has joined the Private Client & Trust Group She is a former staff writer for the Boston College Law Review and has served as a diversity and inclusion intern in the Fair Labor Division of the MA Attorney General’s office. She also served as an operations coordinator for “Teach for America.” Goyal is actively involved with the American Constitution Society, serving as president of the Boston College Law School chapter and as a Next Generation leader on the national level. She is also a certified mediator and is fluent in Hindi. She received her J.D., cum laude, from Boston College Law School in 2018 and her B.A., cum laude, from Boston College in 2014.

Dan Lasman, who has joined the Real Estate Group, is a former senior article editor of the Harvard Law and Policy Review, and has demonstrated a commitment to the rights of immigrants, having worked for the Harvard Immigration and Refugee Clinic, the Harvard Immigration Project, and Immigration Legal Services of Esperanza Center in Baltimore. He received a Fulbright Scholarship to Spain through the U.S. Department of State and speaks Spanish. He received his J.D. from Harvard Law School in 2018 and his B.A. from Johns Hopkins University in 2014. 

Josh Looney has joined the Litigation Group. Another former editor of the Harvard Law and Policy Review, Josh represented clients as a student attorney through Harvard’s housing law and criminal justice clinics. Looney also worked as a law clerk for the Metropolitan Public Defender’s office in Portland, Oregon, and volunteered with the Committee for Public Counsel Services Innocence Program in Massachusetts. Prior to law school, Looney taught English at a high school in Japan and speaks Japanese. He received his J.D. from Harvard Law School in 2018 and his B.A, summa cum laude,from Lyon College in 2010.

Michelle Shortsleeve has joined the Real Estate Group. She previously worked on the staff of the Public Interest Law Journal at Boston University School of Law and served as a student lawyer in the school’s Civil Litigation Clinic. In addition, she taught history and humanities at the “Academy High School” and the “Achievement First Amistad High School,” both located in New Haven, Connecticut. She received her J.D., magna cum laude, from Boston University School of Law in 2018, her M.A. from Yale University in 2010 and her B.A., cum laude, from Dartmouth College in 2007.

Michael Wallace, who has joined the Real Estate Group, is a former member of the Boston University Law Review staff and previously served as a judicial intern to Judge Robert Foster of the Massachusetts Land Court. He also served as a teaching assistant at UCLA and speaks Italian. He received his J.D. from Boston University School of Law in 2018, his M.A. from the University of California at Los Angeles in 2010 and his B.A. from the University of Georgia in 2007.
