After No. 24 Maryland stretched their second-half lead to 16 points against Ohio State Feb. 23, three costly turnovers -- the Terps’ Achilles heel this season -- helped the Buckeyes roar back to cut the deficit to two with 5:27 to play.
Thanks to five straight free throws from freshman guard Serrel Smith Jr. and sophomore guard Darryl Morsell, Maryland weathered the storm to put away the Buckeyes, 72-62.
The Terps (21-7, 12-5 Big Ten) swept the season series with the Buckeyes (17-10, 7-9 Big Ten). They now travel to Penn State Feb. 27 in their final road game of the season.
