Johnny Holliday has been known as the voice of Maryland men's basketball and football since 1979. Now in his 40th year in College Park, Md., Holliday was honored at Xfinity Center during Maryland's 72-62 win against Ohio State Feb. 23.
Earlier this year, Holliday was named the 2018 Maryland Sportscaster of the Year, marking the second time that he has earned the honor. Holliday was also inducted into the Radio Television Broadcasters Hall of Fame in 2003, the Washington, D.C. Sports Hall of Fame in 2014 and has received several other awards throughout his illustrious career.
"It's been a wonderful, wonderful career for me. It's not over yet. It's going to end sooner or later because you can't do it forever," Holliday said on Glenn Clark Radio Feb. 25. "We're in a business that we're lucky to be in. … It's a job that's really kind of a dream come true."
